A Call for Action

As the public health threat of antimicrobial resistance is increasing, the calls for actions are not going unnoticed.
A recent publication examined the applicability of the International Health Regulations (IHR) to antimicrobial resistance. The IHR provide a legal framework for international efforts to contain the risk from public health threats that may spread between countries. Pan-resistant strains without available treatment options may constitute a public health emergency of international concern.
