Welcome to my professional web site. I am Dr. Ursula Theuretzbacher, a microbiologist, dedicating my professional life to supporting antibacterial drug R&D, improving the usage of anti-infectives to increase effectiveness, reduce harm, and combat resistance. Specializing in antibiotics and antifungals, I offer scientific expertise, international business and government R&D guidance, and science communication to clinical, research, and policy bodies.
Currently I am work package leader in the pubicly funded multinational collaborative projects AIDA, (EU FP7) and DRIVE-AB (IMI) as well as partner in COMBACTE-MAGNET (IMI).
As an organiser and invited speaker at major international conferences, adviser and evaluator for government bodies (e.g. EU, NIH, EMA, FDA), serving as the President of the International Society for Anti-Infective Pharmacology (ISAP), the Founding President of the ESCMID PK/PD of Anti-Infectives Study Group (EPASG), as chair person of the working group of the International Society of Chemotherapy (ISC) Antimicrobials of the Future, as Executive Committee member of the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID), I am also honored to be frequently invited by major scientific journals to contribut earticles, reviews and organise special issues as Guest Editor.
